AWS Cloud Architecture Consulting in Boston

We've been building on AWS since its early days — architecting systems at enterprise scale for healthcare platforms, logistics networks, and e-commerce operations. That experience is now available directly to your business, without the enterprise overhead.

What We Do

Lighthouse Consulting provides senior AWS architecture and engineering for businesses that need cloud infrastructure done right — not just "moved to the cloud." Whether you're migrating a legacy system, building a new product, or inheriting infrastructure that nobody fully understands, we work directly with your team to design, build, and operate AWS environments that match your actual requirements.

AWS Capabilities

  • Cloud migration and re-architecture — lift-and-shift where it makes sense; full re-architecture where it doesn't. We assess the trade-offs honestly.
  • Serverless and Lambda architecture — event-driven systems using Lambda, SQS, SNS, and EventBridge that scale without managing servers.
  • Container orchestration — Docker, ECS, and EKS for teams that need reproducible, portable deployments.
  • Infrastructure as Code — Terraform and CloudFormation so your infrastructure is version-controlled, reviewable, and reproducible.
  • Cost optimization and right-sizing — audit of current spend against actual usage, reservation planning, and architectural changes that reduce waste.
  • Security, IAM, and compliance — least-privilege access design, CloudTrail, Config rules, WAF, and HIPAA-aligned controls where required.
  • High availability and disaster recovery — multi-AZ deployments, RTO/RPO planning, automated failover, and backup strategy.
  • CI/CD and DevOps — GitHub Actions, CodePipeline, CodeBuild, and deployment automation that gets code to production safely and frequently.

Our Approach

Most cloud consulting engagements come with layers of account management, junior engineers, and proposals written to maximize scope. We work differently: you deal directly with a senior engineer who has designed and operated production systems at McKesson (Fortune 10), Doctor On Demand, and IntelyCare. There are no hand-offs to a delivery team after the sale.

We also don't recommend AWS for everything. If a simpler, cheaper, or more appropriate solution exists for your situation, we'll tell you. The goal is infrastructure that fits your business — not infrastructure that fits a service catalog.

Related Work

Our HIPAA-compliant patient portal case study shows how we designed an AWS VPC with encrypted RDS, CloudTrail audit logging, WAF, and a Business Associate Agreement — supporting a real healthcare practice under full HIPAA requirements.

The e-commerce re-platform case study includes an AWS Lambda + EventBridge order routing system that eliminated nightly batch inventory problems and brought oversells to zero.

We also write up the real cost and architecture trade-offs behind our own Lambda deployments: hosting a real WordPress site on Lambda for $0.03/month, taking Stripe payments from a Lambda function with no outbound internet access, and working around an MFA-gated API with a delegated-auth relay instead of a NAT Gateway.
